‘SpongeBob SquarePants is popular’ and ‘President Obama is popular’ - these are two facts that are absolutely undisputable.
But what happens, when one of the most popular people in America begins to feel insecure of one of the most popular cartoon characters?
Well, we have what’s called ‘competition’, and we all look out to see who’ll win the feud that’s just begun!
This juicy tid-bit should interest you, if you often watch SpongeBob SquarePants online.
As if this cartoon show wasn’t already popular enough, President Obama added his share of publicity to the show, which has been around for well over a decade, by revealing that it’s his all-time favorite cartoon.
But that’s not where it ended!
The president went on to share that he would love to be as popular as the cartoon character, which evidently means that he doesn’t consider himself to be that popular yet.
That must have brought a huge smile on the faces of all you SpongeBob aficionados, who swear by the hilarious cartoon!
I guess even Mr. President chooses to download his favorite cartoon; I mean, I’m sure he doesn’t have time to catch it, as and when it airs, right?
On second thought, however, the president is probably just being modest, since when you think of the astounding figures accompanying his name, you realize that if there’s one man in today’s generation who’s as popular as popular can be, it’s him!
Take for instance the fact that as he made a recent public appearance in California, and donors were ready to pay as much as $35800 a plate, all for a chance to dine with him!
Not just that, to put in the words of the president, he has a whooping and totally astounding 19 million friends across the globe!
Phew!
Now, before you start musing over how he stays in touch with each one of them, relax; since it isn’t the conventional friends that we’re talking about here. I’m actually talking about ‘friends’ in the most contemporary sense of the word, as in ‘Facebook friends’.
Despite all the love being showered upon him, the president still sticks by the fact that he’s less loved than SpongeBob SquarePants.
Well, I must say that for once, I do agree with him!
